Furthering our mission of performing and promoting new music for Soldier’s Tale ensemble, Exceptet is holding our first ever Call for Scores. Apply now!

Winners will receive:

• Performance of your work in March 2026

• Concert video/audio recording of your work

• Opportunity for an in-person or Zoom workshop/rehearsal

Important dates:

• Application is open NOW!

• Submissions will close December 1, 11:59 pm.

• Finalists will be announced mid-January 2026

• Winners will be announced in February 2026

Eligibility: anyone!

Instrumentation: clarinet (doubling bass clarinet and Eb), bassoon, trumpet, trombone, percussion (see notes below), violin (doubling alto voice), double bass

Other considerations:

• Open instrumentation works are encouraged, and subset instrumentations will be considered

• Premieres and second performances will be prioritized

• New arrangements of existing works are acceptable!

• Works that limit percussion requirements to the following instruments will receive priority consideration
